iVDGL Grid Operations Center (iGOC) +1 317-278-9699 - igoc@ivdgl.org Based at Indiana University, the international Virtual Data Grid Laboratory (iVDGL) Grid Operations Center (iGOC) provides a single point of operations support for the iVDGL Grid3 computational grid. The iGOC performs real time Grid monitoring and problem tracking, supports users, developers and systems administrators, maintains grid services, provides security incident response, and maintains the Grid3 information repository.
In maintaining a 24x7 watch over the Grid3 computing elements and services, the iGOC monitors over 30 Grid3 sites consisting of over 3400 CPU's. Problems found by the iGOC are reported to system administrators and the community. Monitoring tools include Ganglia, ACDC, MonALISA, and GridCat. Support for users, developers, and system administrators includes resolving problems relating to authentication, site installation, job submission, resource scheduling and utilization, job failures, and security.
The iGOC maintains critical Grid3 services, such as the Virtual Organization Membership Service (VOMS) that controls access to grid resources, the Grid Index Information Service (GIIS) that maintains an index of registered Grid3 resources, and the Replica Location Service that provides data virtualization. |
